Affordable Accident Insurance

In Partnership with The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) and MetLife

Why accident insurance?

Accident insurance pays out a lump sum if you incur specific kinds of injury as a result of an accident. Legally distinct from health insurance, accident insurance allows you to claim benefits even if the injuries you incur do not keep you out of work. Accident insurance may also help cover any medical expenses that your health insurance (if you have any) doesn’t cover.

Here is a general list of some of what is typically covered by an accident insurance policy:

  • Injuries: such as fractures, dislocations, concussions, lacerations, eye injuries, torn knee cartilage, ruptured discs, and severe burns.
  • Medical Services and Treatments: such as ambulance, emergency care, therapy services, medical testing (including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans), medical appliances, and certain types of surgeries.
  • Hospitalization: such as hospital admission, confinement, and inpatient rehab after an accident.
  • Additional Benefits: such as accidental death, dismemberment, loss, paralysis, supplemental benefit for lodging.

For a complete list and additional details, you must read the applicable policy documents when you sign up.

Total cost of offering starts at around $20* per month depending on your selections!

Step 1: Join The NASE

To get this accident insurance, you must first be a member of The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE). The membership really offers a lot of great benefits in additional to the accident insurance. With the special partnership arrangement, you can sign up for the Annual Membership (normally $120 Annually) for just $99 Annually. If you divide that by 12, you get a monthly cost of just $8.25.

Even if you don’t buy the accident insurance, the membership alone is a terrific value when you consider all of the many benefits that are included.

To get this dicounted rate, you must use the promo code of “BizBangBoom” when signing up. This is important!

Step 2: Add The MetLife Accident Insurance Add-on

The accident  insurance is not part of the regular membership plan. It’s an add-on. The starting price for the add-on is currently $11.77 per month. However, this price may increase at checkout depending on how many individuals you want to insure.

To purchase, first review the page that describes the insruance in better detail than what you will find here. Then, purchase the insurance using the credit card form at the bottom under the “Get Started” header. To see the form, you must be logged in as a member.

Once this is done, you’ll receive an email invitation to complete a quick form required by the accident insurance company. Then, submit electronically and that’s it!
