Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that airports are one of the quickest and most organic ways to achieve development for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Under his leadership with the help of TDP Leaders and Best of TDP MLAs, he made sure that the development he thought never got wasted.


     The development of airports along with the civil aviation sector is given top priority.

     Although this sector is in the central list, the state government has played a constructive role and has been able to convince the central government to make critical decisions on many issues

     During the last eight years, there has been an incredible development in the development of airports in the state




     Five parts namely Hyderabad, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry are the major cities to accomplish this feat at the prime of the TDP Government.

     Development of Hyderabad Begumpet Airport to international standards.

     Arrangement of bridges.

     To allow the landing of large aircraft like the Boeing - 747.

     Widening of the roadway by 11,000 feet.

     Visakhapatnam Airport upgradation, New terminal building navigational facilities at Rs.200 crore, Long runways.

     Vijayawada airport has been upgraded at the cost of Rs.8 crores.

     Airlines started flight services.

     Rajahmundry Airport runway recarpeting flights will start at a cost of Rs.9 crore.

     The development of airports has increased the number of local and foreign fighters and increased connectivity to international destinations.

     From Hyderabad to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Dubai, Sharjah, Direct fights to Kuwait, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Doha.

     Air India flights to London, Europe, and America.

     Major airlines such as Emirates, Malaysian, Qatar, Silk Air, and Air India Indian Airlines (International) started their flights, Hyderabad


Hyderabad as Aviation Hub


     With Hyderabad becoming an aviation hub, the number of passengers traveling by air is gradually increasing.

     1400 percent increase in foreign passengers between 1994-2003.

     Indigenous passenger is 42 percent.

     89 percent increase in international passenger numbers between 2001-2003; It is the highest in the country.

     6 percent increase in the number of domestic passengers.

     The highest growth among all metro cities.



New International Airport in Hyderabad


     The first greenfield airport with international standards is private Development in partnerships.

     Longest distance, 100 percent aero bridge connectivity

     5000 acres area.

     Coordinated the development of the airport vicinity for the first time in the country.

     Multimodal connectivity to the airport with road and rail links, also a first in the country, started in 2006.
