Spices Park in Andhra Pradesh by Nara Chandrababu Naidu

A Spices Park was established under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in Yadlapadu Mandal on the Guntur-Chilakaluripet highway. Union Minister of State for Commerce Nirmala Seetharaman and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu along with the TDP MLAs opened the Spices Park with integrated facilities for cultivation, packaging, processing for value addition, post-harvesting, storage, and exports.

The foundation stone for Spices Park was laid in 2008. Spices Board officials said they have facilities for drying 10 metric tonnes of chillies daily. Scientists at the Spices Board have been conducting techno-feasibility studies using microwave and radio frequency heating and drying techniques. Chilli farmers could bring the product to the park and after value addition through various post-harvest technologies, could sell the products directly to traders. To get more info on this visit TDP Live news on TDPs official site.

The Spices Park's inauguration is a major achievement of TDP in the development of Andhra Pradesh's spice industry. The facility would provide much-needed support to farmers, enable them to get the best prices for their produce, and put the state on the map as a major player in the global spice industry. The Nara Chandrababu Naidu vision is to create world-class infrastructure and facilities for the spice industry and has taken a major step forward with the inauguration of Spices Park. During Inauguration, N. Chandrababu Naidu said the facilities of drying would be a lot of benefits to small and medium farmers, who could not afford expensive poly dryers for the processing of chillies and turmeric. The park would also have facilities for warehousing raw materials, cleaning, drying, grading, pulverizing, blending, and packaging facilities in tune with international quality and safety standards. A research station to be set up on the same premises would conduct research on high-yielding and disease-resistant varieties of Chilies and turmeric, quality upgradation, and development of new species.

In recent news Shri, Chandrababu Naidu said The Spices Park is bringing a sea change in the spice industry in Andhra Pradesh. Chilli farmers can bring their products to the park and after value addition through various post-harvest technologies, sell the products directly to traders. This would provide a much-needed boost to small and medium farmers who have struggled to compete with larger players in the industry.
