Importance of Password Protection for Shopify

Also, if your Shopify website is under certain development changes and needs some testing during that time for which, you were required to make a new product collection or new website page for that in your store. These things are not needed to be shared with customers, and that’s when you need Shopify password protection.
How to add Shopify Password Protect for your Store
Step 1 –
Navigate to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Preferences
Step 2 –
In the Preferences, go to Password Protection.
Step 3 –
Enter your desired password in its required field.
Step 4 –
Enter a Message for your visitors.
If you want to add any personalized message for your visitors to see on the password page, you can add it from here.
♦ Note:
It is not mandatory to include a message, so you can leave this field blank if you prefer.
Step 5 –
After filling out both fields, Save your settings.
How to Enable the Shopify Password Protection?
For this, follow Step 1 and Step 2 as they are.
In the Password Protection section, there is a checkbox providing you an option whether to Restrict access to visitors with the password or not.
If you want to restrict access, select the checkbox.
If you do not want to restrict access, leave the checkbox unselected or unselect the checkbox.
Once you are done with the changes, Save your settings and proceed.
